I made these pieces for the London School of Economics’ Faith Centre, a space for people of any, all, and no faith to come and spend time. This project followed the installation of Christopher Le Brun’s Desert Window and was designed to work as closely as possible with the atmosphere created by this stained glass. In the light of this abstract representation of a spiritual and contemplative environment I hoped to create a sense of focus and place around in which people can congregate. The half-abstracted forms in the furniture are intended to serve as intermediaries between the physical space of the Faith Centre and the mental space it encourages.
